What is Nousu like?
DOMESTIC
Nousu is a flag-bearer for Finnish craftsmanship. Our products are handmade in our own sewing factory Oy Trikoo-ompelimo Kehto in Nokia. In past decades, Finland had a remarkable textile industry - not anymore, but we are trying to keep the the art of sewing still alive in our country.
DURABLE
If a garment doesn't last, it's not worth making. Unfortunately, this rational and simple guideline is often not followed these days - but we do. We only prefer domestic and proven durable materials, from which our seamstresses carefully sew durable and stylish garments.
NOSTALGIC
The inspiration for Nousu's clothing comes from Finland in the 1970s. At that time, TV was black and white and clothes were colorful, now it's the other way around. We bring those bright colors of the past back to clothes and hope that they will bring cheer to the gray days of everyday life. We create ensembles, so our products are easy to combine.
